My parents, Narelle & Wilson Thomsen established ‘Thomsens Photographic Gallery’ in Maryborough, Queensland in 1970 after leaving the farming life.  They started the business from home and later purchased a building in the CBD and transformed it into a studio & darkroom.  From a simple hobby they built the business into a great success.  In 1984 they built a ‘state of the art’ new studio and were rewarded for their talents with numerous national & international awards.

In 1996, I returned from Brisbane where I printed in a professional photographic lab, and freelanced weddings & portraits in my spare time.  As I grew up living and breathing photography, I blended straight into the family business.

2007 saw Mum & Dad hand the reins over to me, which is both an honour and a privilege.  I am proud to continue their traditions of genuine client care, attention to detail & optimum quality.

I am offering a very personal service, within my business, because I do not employ any staff.  Therefore my clients are only dealing with myself, and I am the person shooting, preparing and printing their precious memories.

Being a member of the AIPP keeps me up-to-date within the photographic industry.
